description
Butyl tape - adhesive tape, consisting of synthetic rubber and plastic material, is used to insulate infrared film in heating systems and warm floors.
The main application is the insulation of the contact points of the electrical part of the film and the wiring (clips or soldering points to the copper bus). Butyl tape has increased heat resistance in comparison with conventional insulation tapes.
When heated, the resinous rubber layer becomes plastic and slightly spreads over the surface of the film, which creates a denser insulation contact and actually seals the space under the film.
At one contact point, from 10 centimeters of butyl tape is used for high-quality and reliable insulation. Over butyl tape is additionally covered with an insulating tape to fix butyl and enhance the insulation effect.
